DESCRIPTION:Portland's most exciting new choral group\, Northwest Vocal Art
 s\, presents a celebration of Brazilian music.\n\n\n\nOur last concert of 
 the season will be our annual performance of music from the Southern Hemis
 phere. Let your spirit soar with Northwest Vocal Arts as we journey throug
 h the sounds\, rhythms\, and soul of Brazil.\n\nMore than a concert\, Cord
 ilheira is a cultural celebration\, blending choral music\, Brazilian perc
 ussion\, and heartfelt community connection.\n\nThe concert will feature t
 he NWVA professional Olympia Chamber Choir and the NWVA Evergreen Youth Ch
 oir performing stunning choral works including Bendita Sabedoria by Brazil
 's greatest composer\, Heitor Villa-Lobos\, and two works by Carlos Albert
 o Pinto Fonseca\, Muie Rendera a setting of two of the most popular folk t
 unes from Northeast Brazil with percussion accompaniment and based on the 
 Brazilian rhythm baião and Jubiabá\, an evocation of a candomblé ceremo
 ny.\n\nBefore the concert\, DJ Ju Borba sets the tone with a Brazilian sou
 ndtrack - welcoming the audience as they arrive.\n\nAfter the performance\
 , the celebration continues with a joyful Brazilian reception\, where musi
 c\, flavors and warmth come together:\n\n 	The BrazilTones - performing bo
 ssa nova and MPB favorites\n 	Santa Terra Bakery - serving authentic Brazi
 lian sweets and savory bites\n 	Nossa Família Coffee - offering freshly b
 rewed Brazilian coffee\n\nThe event is produced in collaboration with GING
 A Events\, a Portland-based creative studio dedicated to celebrating Brazi
 lian culture through community\, storytelling\, and sensory experiences.\n
